Today, 30 May 2022, Looking Up Paris joins Google in paying tribute to Edmond Rostand who became a member of the Académie française 121 years ago. We encourage you to take a look at the facade of the Théâtre de la Porte Saint Martin, 18 bd Saint Martin, 10th arrondissement. In the central window, Constant Coquelin (1841-1909), who was the first Cyrano and embodied him so well that Rostand dedicated his play to him, awaits you. For more details on Cyrano and a look at two other icons of the French theatre of the late 19th/early 20th century in the side windows, visit page 120 of Looking Up Paris!
